In the long, fall shadows of the Rockies, the Mountain Hardwear Shadowland Jacket gives you the warmth you need to set up the tent and get a fire going. It\222s windproof, waterproof, and breathable with a brushed tricot lining to add a little warmth to your awestruck gazing of the peaks. As you scour the mellow ridge for firewood and the wind picks up, pull the hem drawcord and zip up the turtle-neck collar. The next day in the sun, pack away the 14-ounce jacket without adding a brick\222s weight to your already bulging pack.

Bottom Line: A serious jacket for serious campers.

Excellent light jacket

wore this jacket on my usual 4 mph, 5 km walk (50 degrees 30 mph north wind); I was never cold or too warm and even the zipper is wind proof. Contrary to some other reviewers, I find that it breathes very well. Following the advice of other reviews, I ordered a size up from my usual large (I am 6', 170 lbs). This jacket is cut longer than my size large Mountain Hardwear compressor jacket, but the chest and sleeves are very nearly the same. It is the same size as my large Marmot Dryclime Catalyst jacket which is of similar construction (nylon shell with light insulation (but vents on the torso sides and sleeves). My only criticism is that the cuffs are not adjustable and the elastic is too long to provide a snug fit at the wrists.

Write your question here...How about the wind resistance and warmth of this jacket compared to Marmot driclime windshirt? I got Marmot one, but it's really ugly (:-) other than that it's terrific. OK I am a little picky). Found this jacket looks good. So how about the wind resistance and warmth?
