Sajama Pant - Women's

Some folks climb in their pajama pants, and really, who can blame them? They’re comfy and have little cartoon snowmen on them. But the Mountain Hardwear Women’s Sajama Pant blows those suckers out of the water (sorry, Frosty) when it comes to performance on the rocks. They happen to be comfortable and stylish enough to keep on for the rest of the day as well. Stretchy, articulated, and water-resistant, the Sajama Pant has your climbing needs covered. A rear utility loop makes just the right spot to hang a chalk bag, and plenty o’pockets make handy spots to stow your cash when you head back into town.

Bottom Line: Save the pajamas for sleepytime, although who knows—the Sajama could be good to sleep in too.

Radical Pants

These are awesome pants. I'm 5'10 so need a "long" option- which MH has, as well as exact pant sizes to choose from rather than just small, medium, and large. I love these pants- they are comfortable pants that double as casual jeans for a long trip in the car or airplane, and you don't have to change to go to the crag. I couldn't be happier.

great pants

I love these pants! They have a sturdy fabric that makes crawling around the rocks carefree. So comfortable and I feel cute in them too. I am also a 5'10" curvy-ish girl. The length and mobility work well for me!

I love them

By:
October 26, 2008

I am 5' 5" with a 30.5 inseam and these are the best fitting pants I have purchased in a long time. Although I am "average" height most pants these days are way too long with stupid wide leg openings. That's OK for going to the movies but when you are outdooring it, a trimmer leg opening is desirable. I liked these so much I bought another pair in the alternate color. I work in a hospital ER and these are PERFECT "on call" pants.

Need a 36" inseam :)

By:
December 24, 2009

I bought size 4 tall, but the inseam was not long enough. I love the fabric and construction of the pants but at 6' and 130 pounds, I need 3 inches added to the inseam. It would be great if Mountain Hardwear made women's pants with 36" inseams. I guess I will try looking at the men's pants for an extra inch or two and take down the hems. I will still give these pants a great review because you will really like them if you are not as tall.

Nice climbing AND around the town pant

By:
December 15, 2008

I'm 5'2 so I was overjoyed to put a pair of pants on that I don't have to hem/ aren't kids pants (size 2 Short). It seems like there are a lot of climbers my size, but MH really seems to be the only company making pants for my size adults. Great functional rock climbing/ multipitch pant, sturdy material and a nice-looking design.

Awesome pants!

By:

These pants are amazing, as I've come to expect from Mountain Hardwear. Very flattering fit, but breathable, with outstanding freedom of movement from the "just enough" stretch. Waist is lined with soft fabric so no binding, no matter what the activity. Though I haven't yet made a mountian trek, the fabric seems abrasion resistant, and up to the task of hiking/rock scrambling. Can't wait to hit the trail in them this Spring and Summer. Great product, and ordering from Backcountry was a piece of cake. No problems, and got exactly what I was looking for. :)

man pockets

By:
January 24, 2010

Can women get some real pockets for goodness' sake? The coin pocket is pointless and the the rear "slant" pockets are strange. Other than that I really love these pants. I wanted some tough pants and these do the trick. Comfy on the rock and they look nice enough for me to teach in. Would like zippered rear pockets (normal pockets) and perhaps a zippered thigh pocket.

Best pants ever!!!

By:
October 18, 2009

Best pants ever. I've had them for about a year and I think it's time to write something about my favorite pants. I am pear-shaped, 5.4, 120 pounds and the size 4 regular fits like it was made just for me. The sturdy material and the unique stitching on the hips give these pants an awesome look. The stretch is awesome! It's stretchy enough even for super high steps or weird heel hooks. It's not noisy as most outdoorsy pants, so I can wear them around town comfortably. I really appreciate that they are water resistant- I've worn them when it drizzles out and I stay nice and dry. I love how sturdy they are- I've been wearing them a whole year for outdoor climbing and still no signs of wear and tear. I don't usually buy anything full price, but when I tried these on at a retailer and felt how awesome the fit was, I just had to have it. I couldn't believe that even the length was exactly right!! Definitely worth every penny!!

Too low-rise

By:
July 16, 2009

Those of us of a "certain age" often need a bit more "rise" than these pants offer. These hit approximately 2" below the navel (well, at least MY navel :-) ) and while they fit well - the low-rise renders them unsuitable for my volunteer trail-maintenance uniform application. I also echo the "stupid wide" leg opening comment below.

The nylon canvas fabric would otherwise be great for cool-weather travel, and if you like low-rise they'd be fine. But for tasks requiring lots of bending-over they're just too low for me. Perhaps if I was still 20-something... I might have kept them if the fabric was lighter-weight - they have a great reinforced knee area - but I'm looking for something that breathes in 90-95-degree heat that's also suitable for trailwork. In green. Suggestion to Backcountry: note the rise in your description of women's pants and save shipping a product that wouldn't otherwise be ordered!

Returned them

By:

I hated these. They were too short and had no stretch in them. For this curvy 5'10" woman, they just didn't cut it.
