Mountain Hardwear decked the Ropeline Backpack out with all the carrying-space and specialized pockets you need to shimmy past the boundary lines and cruise into the backcountry. Whether you roll ski-style or on one plank, this pack accommodates your rig, plus your shovel, probe, beacon, skins, and ice axe should you need it.

  • Hydration sleeve in main compartment keeps you watered
  • Sleek design won’t snag on the area boundary rope you somehow didn’t notice
  • A roomy main compartment carries extra layers, lunch, shades, and camera
  • Durable nylon stands up to seasons of abuse

Bottom Line: A grade-A touring buddy that won’t complain on uphill slogs.

Brennan. The closest thing we have this season is this:

Another pack that we have had in the past is called the BeBop. It was exactly 20 liters. 20 liters = about 1200cu in.

I really find it annoying when things like this are put into advertising. Are you encouraging reckless behavior or criminal trespass? With more and more ski areas opening gates and allowing limited use of backcountry, we should encourage responsible use of these areas, not let people think that a cool backpack is going to keep them safe in unpatrolled areas.

it says it comes with a hydration sleeve, is that the sleeve

it says it comes with a hydration sleeve, is that the sleeve that holds a water bag (similar to what's found in a camelpak), or is it the water bag itself. in other words, do I need to purchase the water bag in addition?

yep it's just a sleeve to hold your hydration bladder, which you'll need to purchase separately.

would this pack be useful for day to day activities and school

would this pack be useful for day to day activities and school as well as skiing. i ordered the independence for more of an everyday pack, but i think i would return it for this if it is versatile enough. i know they're about the same size so would it be worth getting this one for skiing?

Sure. The only thing it would be lacking school wise is a laptop sleeve and front organizer panel.
