You don't need any fancy contraptions or gym contracts to get your fill of heart-pounding exercise. Just put on the Mountain Hardwear Refueler Short and hit the trail at a ludicrous pace. As you huff and puff through the first couple miles, this stretchy short's moisture-wicking inner brief begins helps keep your strides smooth and chafe-free.

  • An inseam gusset provides additional room for uninhibited strides
  • Natural Chitosan finish helps prevent the growth of bacteria in the fabric, which can lead to odor
  • The elastic waist and interior drawcord secure the short as you hop over curbs and mountain streams
  • A side pocket and hidden inner leg pocket hold your key or other small items you need to keep secure while you run
  • UPF-25-rated fabric prevents sunburned thighs and cheeks during long runs in the sun
  • Reflective print adds visibility for dawn jogs or runs that stretch after sundown

Bottom Line: An everyday runner's short with an inner brief.

Glad I bought 'em

Ran for years in P'gonia's Long Haul Truckers, but - as with a lot of great gear - they stopped making them. Found these at BC and, since they're Mtn. Hrdwr., thought I'd give them a try.

Now, I've run a 50k in them, and just returned from wearing them from the North to South rims of the Grand Canyon. They are just the right length, handle weather well, fit to size, and are really comfortable.

The outside pocket faces front, instead of back. That's not a practical problem, as contents stay in under even trying conditions. But, people frequently ask if I've got my shorts on backwards. Not an unusual possibility, if you knew me.

They are also not quite as tough as the LHR's, as I got a tear on a trail fall that my old shorts would hare slid right over.

Good price, solid shorts.

Great trail-runner, but a bit funky

Well, P'gonia quit making Long-haul Runners, so I needed to look elsewhere. Since I've had really good luck with Mtn.Hdwr. stuff, and the price was right, thought I'd give these a try. Well, I've run a 50k in them, and wore them in a Grand Canyon rim-to-rim, and I am very satisfied. They fit well, though a bit tighter than the LHR's, mostly because of a more compressed liner. Keeps the package solid, but I miss a bit of the previous looseness. the front pocket opens to the front, which is not a problem - holds everything secure - but looks a bit like I've put my shorts on backwards, as friends have noted. Perhaps this is simply a reflection of my absentmindedness, but you'll probably be asked the same question.

Also, on a trail fall, I got a small tear in one leg. Not a problem a needle and thread can't fix, but the LHR's would have slid right over those rocks.

Good short, great price. I'd buy them again.

good enough

definetely not of such a high quality as the previous refuelers, but that was on the $50 range...so for the amount given $35 it stands fine, seems tough enough and pretty comfy. Time ll show wether it worths the money or better spend another $15 and jump over the next category. i ve only 20-30K on them. Keep in touch
