Stay dry in the impending overnight downpour when you pitch the guaranteed-watertight Mountain Hardwear Raven 2 Tent. This two-person three-season tent has a fully taped fly, taped perimeter seam, welded corners, and welded guy clip anchors and is rain tested to withstand 1200 inches of rain in 24 hours, so you can take the Raven to India in monsoon season and brave the rain until the Ganges spills its banks and carries you and your backcountry partner away.

  • Two side doors with vestibules give you and your partner your own dry entry point to store gear
  • Vertical sidewalls provide more interior space for Saturdays trapped in the rain
  • Color-coded poles and grommet tabs with reflective starter points make pitching easy even in fading light
  • Canopy window lets you check for breaks in the weather
  • Canopy pockets keep your overnight necessities in order
  • Pitch Light option makes a lightweight shelter with poles, fly, and footprint (sold separately)

Bottom Line: Superior rain protection for a mere five pounds.

Yeah, it's a solid tent. I've had some trouble with rainfly durability in cold weather with my Mountain Hardwear Trango, but other than that, it's a great tent, and if you guy it down, it's very solid. Mountain Hardwear is a very reputable company, and they don't sell cheap stuff. You're paying for quality when you get this tent, so I think you made a good choice.

Dusty. 6'2" and 240? I would definitely go for a 3-Person Tent. I think you'll find it much more comfortable. The Raven has a little more head space than the Drifter due to the fact that the poles are bent differently. There is a slight bend in the Raven poles that create this space and this does not exist in the Drifter which has a more traditional design. I hope this info helps!

If you're sharing it, then I would definitely go for a three man tent. Check out the MSR Mutha Hubba tent, it's very light, and quite roomy. If price isn't at all an issue, the Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 tent weights something like four pounds, however, it's $500.

MH says the weight of the tent is 5lb, packed weight is 5lb 9 oz/or if you go ultralight with just poles, fly and and a footprint it'd be 3lb 9oz.

Mountain Hardwear makes a rectangular gear loft that according to their website is an option you can add for this tent. I think its like $18.00.
