Super Warm!

These things are insanely warm. The flatlock stitching and rotated seams keep everything chafe free too, which is awesome. Fit well underneath soft shell pants too, and they don't bind either.

Love 'em......Live in 'em

By:
January 27, 2010

My first pair was purchased last year to take on a ski trip to Utah with my twin grandchildren. Wore them as a second layer and as the only layer with sweaters and tall suede boots - very versatile!
Loved "em....lived in 'em.

Purchased a second pair in late Fall when a cold front was forecast for Georgia where we live. Every morning got out of bed and immediately put them on underneath my gown.
Loved 'em....lived in 'em.

Took them to our mountain cabin.
Loved "em....lived in 'em.

Purchased another pair at Christmas and took them to Florida where we have a condo. Had the coldest weather we've had in decades.
Loved "em....lived in 'em.

I'm the proud owner of 3 pairs of these tights/leggings and, needless to say, plan to buy more.

They run a little long...I'm 6'1", 165lbs. I have a 32 inch waist and a 32-33 inch inseam (depends on the brand of clothing) I bought the Mediums and they fit perfectly around the waist and the leg can easily be pulled down over my heal to the arch of my foot (i wear a 10.5)

Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Tights

By:
October 21, 2010

These pants are toasty warm. After falling in love with REI tops made out of the same material I had to get the bottoms to compliment it. These things are toasty. I have used them for sleeping on winter trips and lounging around camp when the air is chilly. They wick sweat pretty well and insulate even better. The Power Stretch material offers a full range of motion as well as being soft and warm.
I have never been able to wear them while hiking/snowshoeing as they are just too warm! But when activity levels drop or the sun goes down, these are on me in an instant.

Great Mid or Top Layer

By:
April 18, 2010

This bottom (along with it's matching top) were my most widely used mid layers this past winter. This past winter was exceptionally cold and snowy and this set fit the bill for all outdoor cross-country,snowshoeing,and hiking activities. When used with my soft shell top and bottoms I was good in temperatures from 10 - 35 F. If I added my Capilene3 layer I could easily go down to 0 F. Mountan Hardwear makes some of my favorite performance clothing and these items are at the top of my list - comfortable, form fitting, and good at wicking away moisture. At 5'7" and 215#, the XL top and L pants fit well.

Power Stretch Tights from Mountain Hardwear

By:
June 13, 2011

These guys are great. The fit was perfect and the quality is there. Very light weight and packable. The warmth to weight ratio is incredible. These are reversable, but I didn't care for the contrasting stitching that appears when you turn turn inside out. The hug the body and seemed to energize my legs.

Hot!

Wore these guys as a base layer for some winter snowshoeing / mountaineering. It was about 5 degrees F and I was sweating through them! Dried quickly, though. Love that they're reversible.
