The four-way stretch construction of the Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Beanie makes this beanie great for a sunny day of chill skiing or as a base layer under a helmet in the backcountry. Mountain Hardwear constructed this Polartec hat to have great qualities on both sides. The Power Stretch's inner side face wicks, drawing moisture away from your skin to ensure dryness. The outer layer works as a smooth, durable layer that fights everyday wear abrasion and allows for easy helmet application.

Bottom Line: Get limber with the Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Beanie.

Perfect Fit

I wear this beanie most days unless the weather is frigid and then I switch to the Dome Perignon. The fabric feels good on your head and it seems to fit my head perfect. Not super warm but it was not intended for sub-zero conditions.

Great Beanie

By:

Bought this for trail running to replace a heavier hat that I'd have to rip off half way through a run. This beanie certainly does its job. It was a little cold for me when I first put it on (teens (F) with single to negative digit wind chills), but with activity it was excellent. Kept my head warm without building up sweat or making me feel overheated. It fits great and looks great, too. Definitely recommend this beanie!

Nice fit

By:

This is an all around great hat. It's thin fleece, about 100 weight that fits snug. I have a small head (7-1/4 fitted hat) and this hat fits well but not tight and there is plenty of room left for someone with a larger noggin.

Dudes, I live in Russia. That winter was extremely cold and that hat never made me feel that!

Great one. I would highly recommend it.

Perfect Beanie....?

By:
December 7, 2011

Is this the perfect beanie? No. It doesn't have a built in laser that could shave Chuck Norris' beard. Beside that, it's the perfect beanie. I've used them climbing in the Wasatch during the winters, snowboarding, hiking and trail running. I now own two because of the sleek style and awesome fit.

Lightweight and warm

It's exactly what it's supposed to be, a lightweight fleece beanie. Perfect for working out during the winter months or undearneath a helmet or something else for some added warmth. It fits really small hence the loss of one star. I had to give it to my brother in law since it just didn't fit my head. I loved the technical aspects of the beanie though. Great quality and performance.

Slick and warm

By:

This product was the first ever power stretch that I bought, and eventhough its super-slick (almost swim hat slick) looks is not to my liking, it performed perfectly; kept me very warm without ever sweating down to about 2F, and with my jacket's hood on I wasn't even bothered by its looks. Loved its non-level cut which means that you can easily tack your ears inside when needed. a 4 star product in my view, which performs as any 5 star product would.

Very Happy

I use this had under my helmet for snowbarding and snowkiting. It had a low profile and no pressure points. It keeps my head warm and dry (especially on -20F [wind chill -40F] North Dakota days)

Great Beanie

This thing is great! Nice and snug. Soft and does not irritate skin. Great warmth for relaxing on cool days or hard hiking in freezing temps. Add a heavier hat over this low-profile one for extra heat.

Too thick for a helmet fit

Wanted something lighter for under a helmet - prob going to look for a Marino wool that is thin.
