Before you venture into the frozen mountains, pull on the Mountain Hardwear Women's Power Pants. These sinfully soft heavyweight mid-layer bottoms insulate you during sub-zero adventures. Power Stretch fleece locks in warmth, breathes well, and wicks moisture. Its smooth face slides easily underneath shell pants. These pants' flatlock seams prevent irritation and pressure points—you won't even notice they're there. The Power Pants feature a wide, contoured waist and a slightly flared hem for a surprisingly stylish fit. Why? Because Mountain Hardwear knows you'll never want to take these babies off.
Bottom Line: If there's such a thing as luxury performance, the Mountain Hardwear Power Pants are the prime example.
These are the most comfortable pants! great fit, long enough for a tall lady (5'9"). The smooth outside repels pet fur and the fleecy inside is so soft and warm. If you are between sizes, I'd suggest going with the higher size. I wear a 14-16 and the XL fits best, maybe a little loose but the L was way too tight and short.
As stated above, these are awesome pants. They are a bit long (which is amazing for me.) I am 5'6" and all leg, and these were a bit too long, I am normally a 32 inch inseam, and these are 33's. The only other suggestion I have for them is to make the pocket a diagonal pocket, that way you don't have to hold your pant leg with one hand and zip with the other.
I am tall, and I can see by the reviews that these pants run long, so that would not be a problem, but I need pants that are long in the rise. If these pants are made to fit below the waist, they would be really too low for me. How are they cut? Is the fit below the waist? If so, how low?

These fleece pants are part of my essential outdoor wardrobe. I layer them over shorts for cold Sierra mornings, layer them under my waterproof pants for snowshoeing, and wear them just as stand-alones for walking the dog on winter days. I'm 5' 7" and weigh 120; the size small fits perfectly.
I really like the fit. Other fleece pants sag and billow like grandpa pants; these are sleek, form fitting and completely flattering. I like the smooth outside finish and fleecey insides. They are not as indestructible as standard fleece, and I've had to mend a tear here and there.
Thank goodness they're still available on Backcountry.com!
These pants are a great for a heavyweight baselayer. I wore them underneath uninsulated snowboard pants in frigid temps and stayed warm the whole day. As others have said though, they do run long. I am 5'2" and the xsmall was still a few inches long. They also sit really low on the hips which I don't love but I tend to like things that sit higher, especially if I'm snowboarding.
All in all, really nice quality pants that keep you warm.
I would use these pants as outer pants with a tight underneath. They have polar fleece inside and smooth polyester on the outside. Look nice, boot cut.
I already owned the black and brown for myself. Purchased the black for my daughter last year and then my son purchased the black for his girlfriend this year....true to size, length. Wonderful warm and comfort!
these pants were just what I was looking for. Size 6/small fit absolutely perfect. I can see me wearing these pants every day just because they feel so nice and warm and comfy!
I am 5'11/145-150 and I originaly ordered the L, but then exchanged it for a M and still, now I think I need the small - and I prefer my stuff a little loose - but M drag on the ground behind my heel a bit. Definitly order a size down. The are however, way way soft and comfortable, warm and delicious. I don't mind that they are too big - I may just use them around the cold house and get the small for athletic stuff.
Had such potential but small was too small, medium way too large, tried to shrink it, didn't work, now it's just collecting dust. Maybe it was a product defect because the gap in sizing was huge from small to med. Eventually I found one by O.R. - size small fits perfect
In Alberta, these pants work very well from fall to spring for outdoor trail running. I have gotten a few tears from branch snags off trail but that hasn't stopped me from ordering a second pair. These are warm and comfortable and generously sized.
I ordered these for platform tennis, played outside. I really needed to be warm, yet be able to move and run on the court. Because the game is played in cold weather, the layers are great. The most comfortable pants I have played in, and warm, with no binding or seams bothering me.
Click on the "view sizing chart" button, and it tells the inseam of all the sizes of pants. They are all regular inseam lengths, so you can see what they all are.
I bought them with the matching shirt and I love them. They are great for a cold day but very lightweight and soft. You should definitely buy both the shirt and pants.
I already have a black pair -- size small -- that I've worn for about 3 years. They are very warm & comfortable. The inseam is roomy (I am 5'11" & 135 lbs). These are my go-to pants for cold-weather training runs in the trails of northern Arizona.
