Go ultralight with the Mountain Hardwear Women's Phantom 32 Down Sleeping Bag. This 800-fill down sleeping bag is ideal for summer or warm-weather backpacking adventures. Mountain Hardwear encased the down in a DWR-coated ripstop nylon shell. The water-repellent coating prevents a light rain from affecting the warmth of your sleeping bag's insulation. The Phantom 32 stuffs down to a mere seven inches by ten inches. A single-handed drawcord lets you easily adjust this mummy bag's hood.

Bottom Line: Backpack or camp with the super lightweight Mountain Hardwear Phantom 32 Down Sleeping Bag.

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Great Cool Weather Sleeping Bag

This is the first down sleeping bag I've ever owned and I love it. It compresses down super small for easy backpack travel and is nice and toasty. I used it in high 40's unzipped for most of the night with light base layers and socks. Only my toes got cold in the wee morning hours.

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Women's Sleeping Bag: 32 Degree Down

I used the Mountain Hardwear Phantom 32 - Women's for a week in 25-40 degree weather and never got cold, only wearing lightweight long underwear (no socks/hat). I have been very happy with this sleeping bag ever since, and definitely think that it deserves the 32 rating. It also compresses down very small (maybe a little bigger than a nalgene) and the weight is very light.

Not warm enough at all. Is this really a 32F bag??

I was so excited to get my new sleeping bag but as soon as I received it, I noticed some feathers were coming out of the bag. I used it last night where my car's thermometer was reading 53F. You know, 53F is not that cold of a night camping. I woke up a couple of times because I was freezing... It was supposed to be 32F degree bag, but it is really NOT.

One thing that might help you is to realize that they put more insulation on the "top" of the bag- maybe you had it upside down. Also to realize that different people sleep at different temperatures. I personally use my Phantom 32 as a "go to" bag for all my light and fast ascents- and find that if it is extra cold, I just wear more layers. It works great for me!
