When it’s in your backpack, the Mountain Hardwear Women’s Phantom Down Jacket packs down so small and light, you might forget it’s there. But when the sun goes down and the temperature plummets, it’ll be difficult to ignore the massive amounts of warmth pumped out by the jacket’s fluffy, 800-fill goose down. The ultralight, water-resistant ripstop shell sheds light moisture, and the included stuff sack holds the jacket for compact packing.

Like it a lot, but chose another instead

Really liked it but settled on the MontBell instead. Pluses were comfort, fit, good secure pockets, very warm. The reason I chose the MontBell is that I was seeking something a little slimmer looking for 3-season flexibility and travel.

    Dont order in white!!!

love love love the jacket....but in white, all the dark feathers show thru and from a distance the jacket looks like it has dirt spots all over it!!! :( so sad, because it is a wonderfully feeling jacket!!!

cek. Sorry you did not like the 'show through' of the feathers. We use extremely high quality 800-fill GRAY European Goose down which does have some dark feathers. Using gray goose down instead of bleached white goose down is a little more environmentally friendly despite the show through in some of the lighter color fabrics. If you were to purchase a darker color fabric the feathers would not show through at all! Cheers!

      My Favorite!!

I searched every single down jacket available and chose this one because it has 800-fill down and is lightweight and is super cute! I am not disappointed AT ALL! I wear it every day. It is so comfortable and warm and it looks expensive. The color is an irridescent white, like pearl. There are cool pockets everywhere and it even has adjustable pull string around bottom. I have long arms and they are long enough for me. I am tall and skinny and the Medium is perfect for me. I recommend this to everyone!

        not for me....

I wanted to like this coat, but I had to send it back. I have an athletic build and i found it to fit a bit to snug around the hips. I also thought the material was a bit too thin for my needs. I wanted something with a more substantial outermaterial(something water repellent). I also thought the color was a bit duller than the picture. Back it went. I liked the North Face Amore better!

Thanks for the review Iribol. I hope you found what you were looking for. As for the water repellency, I wanted to comment that the 20 D fabric used in the Phantom actually does have a very durable DWR which provides a high level of water repellency. Cheers!

          Great coat!

I bought this jacket to wear while we lived in Calgary, AB Canada and it has served me well. I can throw on a hooded sweatshirt underneath and walk miles in temperatures ranging from 0 to 28 degrees fahrenheit. It's warm enough for the cold nights but not too warm for the cold sunny days. I have not regretted the lack of a hood, but someone else might.
It fits well. No down jacket that is truly warm is going to make you look like a model, but this one doesn't make you feel 20 lbs overweight either. I would recommend it.

            I love this coat!!

I live in MN, and I will say, this will definitely keep me warm in the cold winter months! I have recommended this coat to many, many people, and have told them specifically to get it at prices, great website, awesome support staff...all around 5 stars!

I have had this jacket for about a year. It's awesome! It has worn well, and it is the warmest thing! I wish it had a hood. I can wear it from 32* and below. Even if it's windy, I am warm. I felt like it ran a little big size wise, I got a medium and I normally get a medium, but its a teenie bit big. I didn't try on the small because I got it on steep and cheap but there is room to wear like a hoodie underneath it. Awesome coat.

              Compressable? Stuffable? I'm looking for...

              Compressable? Stuffable?
I'm looking for a down jacket that my wife can keep in a small stuffsack in her backpack while out hiking and camping. Can anyone tell me if this jacket lends itself to being compressed in a stuff sack, or a small compression sack?
