The versatile Mountain Hardwear Phantom 15 Down Sleeping Bag sees you through three seasons of superlight backpacking. A DWR-coated, ripstop nylon shell protects the Phantom's 800-fill down insulation, so you stay warm and dry during those cold autumn nights. Mountain Hardwear used tight baffling to prevent the down from bunching and causing cold spots. The alpine mummy cut and face gasket seal in your body heat, and the single-handed drawcord lets you easily adjust the hood.

Bottom Line: The Mountain Hardwear Phantom 15 keeps you cozy from spring to fall.

Will never go back to synthetic!

After using a 20 degree synthetic bag all summer one year, sleeping cold and miserably, I decided that I'll spend the money and get a good down bag. Best choice I've ever made! I've never been cold once using this and I've used this through spring to fall in the Sierras. Its been the perfect size for me being 5'1 and packs small in a medium sized compression sack. The outer material feels really thin and flimsy sometimes, so I try to be careful with it.

Ordered a sleeping bag from your site a couple of months ago.

Ordered a sleeping bag from your site a couple of months ago. I haven't used it yet, but have decided it is too bulky since I might want to take it on a backpacking trip. I bought the ALPS mountaineering navajo 0 degree down bag. First question- can I still return this bag. Second question- is the Mountain Hardwear bag a good replacement?

The Mountain Hardwear bag is a great bag. It totally depends what you are looking for in a bag. If you want your bag to be as small when stuffed as possible... you might want to consider a bag with a warmer temperature rating like this 15 or a 32 even. The warmer the rating the less down the smaller it will stuff. Also, compression stuff sacs help as well to get them as small as possible. Good luck!
