Pack the Mountain Hardwear Women's Navigation Pant for your three-season hiking needs. The Navigation Pant covers all the basics—abrasion resistance, breathability, and stretchability—with a simple, low-profile fit. Zip-off snap leg cuffs keep debris out of your boots, and midweight softshell fabric provides just the coverage you need for June bushwacking or September backpacking. But if things do happen to get toasty, just unzip the mesh-backed thigh vents to let the breeze in.

Bottom Line: Your one-hiking-pant quiver.

I got these to use for spring ski tours. I always overheat in goretex and such. They are a great weight for temperate days in the Wasatch. (might want to be conservative if the weather is questionable) They could use scratch/scuff guards at the boot, but they are not billed as ski pants, so I guess that's what you get. I was surprised to find that I could sit in the snow and not get wet, although I would guess that won't last forever.

Stylish, Light Weight & Non-Restricting

Karen -Bought the pants for Alaska trip. Purpose of these pants were to keep me warm and dry during hikes and ocean tours. The fit was comfortable and I am very happy with the style and look. The pants' waist sits just below my naval, I would have liked them a little lower (I prefer low-rise). Sizes tend to run on the smaller size. Liked the versatility of adjusting the zipper for boot leg fit, also like the idea of the zip-off snap leg cuffs to keep debris out of your boots or remove them if not needed. It was easy to move around and NOT feel bulky, these light weight pants allowed me to bend without any restrictions. These are water-resistant NOT waterproof, I was standing in wind and drizzle/sprinkles and pants held off some moisture but gave in after 5-10 minutes. Pants did wick off moisture once the drizzles/sprinkles stopped. As far as warmth, I would have to say that it was a little weak, then again I get cold easily, and it didn't help being in 50 degree temp, with 20 mph wind...oh and sprinkles. Overall, I thought these pants were great and I would highly recommend them!
