Designed to keep your little hiker comfortable on warm summer backpacking trips or camping outings, the Mountain Hardwear Kids’ Mountain Goat 40 Sleeping Bag features highly-compressible Thermic MX insulation that insulates even when wet. The insulated draft tube and contoured hood keep chilly air out, and an additional side zipper lets your kid to roll down the top of the bag. There’s even small zippered pocket for their watch or contact lens case.

Bottom Line: A warm-weather bag built just for the little ones.

Great summer bag for kids

Our kids love the idea of having their own special sleeping bag, especially a plum/pink colored one, and the Mountain Goat fits the bill. They are synthetic, affordable and sized for kids, all of which are important features. We had two of them blow out of a Rocket Box and get run over on the Freeway, but they survived with only small tears in the stuff sacks.

At 40's, these aren't for cold weather camping, but if the kids are still in PJ's, it works fine.

As the other reviewer mentioned, the bags do suffer from "zipper suck" where the fabric gets pulled into the zipper teeth if you are not careful. Aside from that, it is a great bag.

Great bag, bad service

I purchased 3 Mountain Goat 20s and the kids love them. They are comfortable and warm. The zippers get snagged a lot. All three of them have the same zipper issue so it is not issolated. The real problem is sending the bag to get service from Mountain Hardwear. I got a small pin hole in it (less than 1/8 inch) and they were going to charge me $35 to fix it. Instead they charged me $15 to patch it. To repair a small pin hole and charge me near the wholesale price for a new bag to fix it I thought was a little excessive. My next bag will be a The North Face Tigger.
