While the tech takes an aggressive stance against the elements, this no-fuss jacket couldn't be bothered to fully spell out minimalist. Dry.Q Elite represents Mountain Hardwear's premier weatherproof, breathable technology. Dissimilar to other breathable tech, Dry.Q Elite does not require a critical mass of moisture vapor before respiration begins. Instead, the jacket breathes all the time, giving air a chance to get and stay fresh and giving you more sweat-free steps before you need to open up the underarm vents. Wind and water don't stand a chance of getting through to your skin (or base layer) unless you find yourself submerged in a bathtub. So stalk cyclones and hunt hurricanes, or just go play in the snow like the rest of us.
The standard fit provides ample room to layer underneath without adding bulk to your profile. The hood holds your helmet without putting blinders on the sides of your eyes. If you're wearing this jacket in town or backpacking, the powder skirt comes off to slim your silhouette even more. The slightly offset full-length zipper resists spits of sleet and saves your chin from unnecessary chafing. Even though you won't find frills on the Minalist jacket, you will be glad it has a key clip in the left pocket. The only thing worse than losing your keys is discovering you've lost your keys.
