  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Mountain Hardwear 1/4 zip fleece is my favorite go to ski/work sweater item. I wear it with a silk long john top ... have the pants too; I personally own 5 of them ... 3 in black - my 1st was purchased 11 yrs ago for a trip to Tremblant & is still going!I have also purchased 4 more for fiends & family... so I love this piece & sure hope it isnt gone for good!
5 stars!
I have the pants too.

Great product from the best online retailer for outdoor products and clothing.

Ive got four of these pullovers in my closet. It's an excellent, durable, and long lasting product. Along with my TNF TKA Glacier 1/4 zips, they are a major staple in my winter clothing for just about everything... I wear them to work, around the house, and everything outdoors. They're excellent as a base layer (over my under armor) for skiing. I always have one in my backpack, whether on an afternoon or 5 day hike. I would highly recommend.

Good Product

Good product, fits nicely. Great for a light layer over a base layer. 5'10'' 200 Medium fits good.

Good stuff

I got it on sale, and this is exactly what I wanted. Great in place of a sweatshirt, and can be layered on top of easily. I'm 6'3" 240, and the XL fits perfect.

Not all fleece is equal

I work at a local ski hill in Minnesota where temps and windchill can get down right cold. That being said when it gets nasty out, the MH Microchill is my go to fleece. It's much heavier than the NF TKA 100. If you want to gauge the thickness of a fleece this simple test. Put your hand thru the sleeve opening..put the fleece up to your mouth and blow thru it. If you can feel your breath it's light, if not.. than that is a thicker fleece and will definitly keep you warmer in colder temps...especially when it's windy. If you're thinking about a warm fleece this is the one to go with.

Awesome Winter top

I really like this top. I've been running in 12F and 20F and all I've needed was this top because there was no wind or precipitation. It's slim cut and looks great around town too. I feel like the sleeves are like half an inch too short though.

Like all Mountain Hardwear gear this is a good quality product. The only downside that i have found is that although it keeps most of your body heat in if the wind is blowing it will cut right through this shirt. Wear this with a good shell and you will be nice and toasty. I' 6'0 @165 and a medium fit perfect even with a T underneath.

Fleece is Fleece

I have a few fleece's but wanted a light weight 100 wt fleece, this was the one I bought it on sale. It is just what I would expected I think all fleece is pretty much created equal so I doubt it is worth the premium for the mountain hardwear name. If I had it to do over again I probably looked for a little cheaper fleece or even gotten a heavyweight merino wool for the same price. Granted the fleece is more durable than the wool. That is my 2 cents. Would have given five stars for less money.

My dad is an extra large tall and he's looking for lightweight and medium weight long sleeve performance shirts. Patagonia's XL is too short and it sound's like this one's on the short side, too. Any recommendations on a shirt that would work for him?

The Arcteryx Delta LT zip pullover is on the long side, and thin (but warm and very soft). It's not too fitted, and very versatile (e.g., can be worn by itself, over a thin baselayer, or even used as a layering piece). This could be just what you're looking for (available at backcountry and backcountry outlet):
