Mesa Pant - Women's

Your spring backpacking trip always presents surprises, like forging an unmapped river or scrambling across a rocky bridge. The Mountain Hardwear Women’s Mesa Pant welcomes unplanned adventures. Mesh panels in the pockets help drain water, so crossing the river doesn’t result in sloshing as you walk the rest of the day. When the trail turns into a gnarly bouldering route, gusseted inseams and knees increase mobility so you can execute a stealthy scramble. The Mesa’s moisture-wicking capabilities help prevent sweaty knee-pits, and the UPF fabric prevents sunburned legs during your snack break on the summit.

Bottom Line: Ready for adventures.

Great Pants

My wife loves these pants. They breathe well and are not sticky and hot like some pants get. They have a UPF Rating of 50 which is very important to her. Have been very durable.

If I'm a certain size in jeans is it safe to say I'd be these same size in these pants?

Thanks!

Yeah, these are pretty true to size. Just make sure you go off the sizing chart provided to double check where you fall.

No hitch-hiking weeds

I was looking for a pair of pants that I could wear off trail without picking up velcro-like seeds from all the bushes I rub against. So far, the fabric (and the thread) has satisfied me. The cut of the pants is flattering, and the zipper pockets are large and convenient. I don't yet know how breathable they will be in hot weather.

Amazing Hiking Pants

By:
January 28, 2010

I absolutly love this pair of hiking pants. I bought them for a geology trip in NM and they with- stood everything I put them through. That includes the plant life and karst weathered limestone, but the best part was they didn't chafe while wearing a pack all day (7- 8 hrs). They are pretty close to being water proof, and the cinch at the bottom helps keep the water out of your boot when stream walking. I will be buying another pair.

Thanks for the review. I'm planning a pack trip for spring break and need a good pair of pants. Sounds like these would do the trick!

I'm looking for pants for an upcoming geology field trip in the Great Basin. Looks like these are winners! Hopefully the carbonates (aka boot eaters) won't eat these alive too!

You can cinch the bottom of the pant with an elastic. There is the option of tighting it or not. They weigh 10 oz. I just bought these and am taking them to New Zealand. They should be really great in the rain. That is why I bought them. I needed a pant that dries fast since I am going to be ridding my bike in the rain for 3 months. I'll let you know how they work after. I love the fit as well. Very comfortable.

Great Pants!

By:

These pants are lightweight and perfect for cool days or warm days when you want to protect your legs. These do not have any stretch in them, but climbing in them isn't a problem. They cinch at the bottom which is good if you don't want the leg holes to get caught in anything. As far as sizing goes, they are a little narrow in the waist which can be a problem for someone with bigger hips trying to get them on, since the fabric does not stretch.
