Not true to size.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

These run small, had to return.

Good buy.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

I have several other convertible pants (North Face Paramount Peaks) and wanted something similar as I wear the bejessus out of those. I think that these will definitely fit the bill. While I agree with bre3209695 about the pockets not being deep enough, I have no issue carrying around my phone, wallet, and a Leatherman (if not attached to my belt). My one issue comes in that they run just a wee bit tight. Nothing to send them back over, but I definitely needed to do some adjusting once I got them on. I have yet to really put these things through their paces, but they seem like a great day hike pant, and work well for an everyday (which is what I got them for).

Lacking in pockets and zips

These are really nicely constructed, and lightweight. The fit is solid, not too baggy through the legs, although they do flare out slightly towards the ankles. But the front pockets are not nearly deep enough, and will lead to stuff falling out. The back pockets have no velcro or zip closure, and the one zip pocket is very small, barely big enough for sunglasses. Also, this version lacks ankle zips, which I find essential not just for removing the legs, but also for getting the pants to fit right over my boots. So back they went, alas.

about size..
if the size is 30x32 what is waist size?

Responded on

Waist size comes first in that measurement, so that's a 30-inch waist and a 32-inch inseam.
