The Mountain Hardwear Women's Mera Parka holds out the moisture with a fully seam-taped Conduit shell and includes a mesh lining for increased breathability. Underarm zips let you vent even more when the going gets sweaty in the high mountains. Mountain Hardwear's roll-away Ergo hood provides excellent protection from blowing snow or rain without inhibiting peripheral vision. You can even zip your Mountain Hardwear fleece into the Mera Parka for added insulation on the coldest days of the season.

Bottom Line: Gear up for nasty mountain weather with the Mountain Hardwear Mera Parka.

Just What I Was Looking For

This is a jacket without all the bells and whistles, but it is lightweight, durable, and a good fit. It might be a bit difficult with a harness to access side pockets, but there are some internal pockets and one chest pocket that are easy to access. The length of the jacket is one of the best features - covers the bum pretty well and won't creep up when you're bending over. There is some extra room in the body to wear a fleece underneath, which is important. It's pretty goodlooking too. Size small fit me well: 5'5", 137 lbs, athletic build.

Nice, but..

By:
December 9, 2008

I was happy to find a jacket that was longer than the norm. The color is beautiful. The quality great, however I didn't realize that it was a very thin shell. It sized on the small side. I had to return it. Wish I could find a womens jacket that is this length, color, warmer, and a draw string waist/snow skirt.

Great shell!

Great shell. It is nice and long (although I am only 5'2) and has lots of good features. You will need a fleece underneath to ski in it, and it doesn't have zip in capability or a snow skirts, but is really comfortable and feels really well made.

Mountain Hardwear Mera

Love the jacket, particularly the length, but unfortunately had to return it. I wanted it to zip in my 'Flip' jacket but despite the description saying it is compatible, it's not.

It is the same but different. Both are made using 2-layer conduit fabrics and are completely water proof and breathable. Hope this helps!

Great Shell

Love this shell, wear it alone for rain protection and cool hiking, climbing conditions, or put a fleece underneath and you could ski in this thing. I usually wear a small but i bought a medium so it would fit nicely over fleece jackets. arms are a little long as I am a short person, but normally would be fine.
