Link Fleece Jacket - Men's

The Mountain Hardwear Men's Link Fleece Jacket zips into compatible shells to give mountaineers breathable weather-protection. Windstopper microfleece and a Windstopper laminate make this lightweight jacket impenetrable to razor-sharp, high-altitude winds, but its breathability keeps you from swamping up. Four-way stretch arm and side panels make steep ascents feel fluid. The Link Jacket transitions easily into warmer weather, so shed your shell in spring and wear this flexible fleece alone on the first sport climbs of the season.

Bottom Line: This Mountain Hardwear jacket links spring to fall and base layer to shell.

Mens Link Jacket

I really like this jacket, but there is one thing... I do not know why but MH did not put WINDSTOPPER fabric under the arms, instead they put stretchy material, and as far as I can tell, it does not stretch at all. Also, the material on the outside likes to attract everything, like cat hair and cotton, but this is no problem because you can get rid of it with a lint roller. All in all, this is an excellent bit of kit. Oh, unlike the WINDSTOPPER Tech jacket, you do not feel the seams on this one where the fabric is joined up.

Great fleece...

I tried the Mountain Hardwear Link after finding the Mountain Hardwear Windstopper Tech to be cut too roomy. The Link fits really well and is cut much more like a soft shell, but still has enough room in the chest and sleeves for an extra layer. The power stretch panels are nice when you're moving a lot, but cause the jacket to be a bit drafty when you're standing still (or when the wind blows from the side). Probably need an additional layer for winter weather.

If you're looking for a lightweight, windstopper fleece that provides a lot of warmth for the weight and good weather protection, this is a great jacket.

Mountain Hardwear: The answer to the best outdoor gear

By:

I was elated the day I received the Mountain Hard Wear Link Jacket. I was very pleased with how it fit under my Exposure II outer jacket. Living in Mankato, Minnesota I demand gear that is wind resistant, water repelling, breathable and comfortable. With the combination of the Link Fleece and Exposure I have been very comfortable cross country skiing and snow shoeing this winter. The Link Fleece is a good looking and comfortable jacket used alone as well.

link jacket

Right away I was hesitant to pay over 100 bucks for a fleece jacket, but after wearing it for a week with a high of 10 F I was very impressed. This thing feels like nothing it is very light and comfy, but it is warm. I use it as a mid-layer when skiing as well and it is great.
