Pull on the Mountain Hardwear Men’s Lightweight Power Stretch Zip T before you head out into the mountains for an alpine climb. Mountain Hardwear gave the Zip T lightweight, moisture wicking Polartech Power Stretch fabric to give you a snug fit under your shell and keep you comfortable and dry when you sweat. Open the 12 inch front zipper to dump excess heat, or zip up the collar to prevent wind from sneaking in.

Bottom Line: Get your under layer on.

A nice form fitting base layer. It is a little long in the waist for my taste, but that may be good for others. Lightweight and offers good warmth for it's weight. It also moves and breathes very well. Mountain hardwear says that it can be worn alone on cool days. It can ONLY be worn alone if you do not have a pack. I went on an 8 mile trail run with a camelback classic with maybe 50 oz of water in it. After the run there was bad pilling on the shoulders and across the chest where the straps were. Very disappointing. The function of the shirt is great (extremely good wicking thanks to the polartech material), but it's not as versatile as I had hoped. The North face Matrix is still my go-to shirt for multipurpose use. If only the matrix came in a half zip with a collar.
