The Mountain Hardwear Women's Lightning Halter Top lets you look as good as you climb. It offers the breathability and comfort of cotton with the stretchiness you need for climbing. The Lighting Halter Top has an integrated shelf bra and flatlocked seams that won't bind, in case you want to wear a fleece when you're warming up or shoulder a pack on the hike to the crag. Mountain Hardwear gave it their fitted cut, and it's adjustable with ties at the neck and the back.
Bottom Line: Get the breathability of cotton with the stretchiness of elastane.

I use these tanks to boulder in at the gym, for which they work fine. If you don't cinch the straps up enough, they will bunch around your lats. When you wash them, you also have to tie the ends of the straps together so they don't get lost in the material or come out completely. From Mountain Hardware, I was hoping for a thinner performance material (these are pretty thick cotton - so if you sweat it stays on you) with some better quality strapping.

This top is adorable. The back tie detail adds a little pizzazz and ups the sexy factor, and the front halter shows off your climbing shoulders. Unfortunately, I have a very short torso so it poofed out a bit under the arms. If you have a longer torso and/or larger chest, this top should look great!

I got this halter top for my friend as she prepared for a backpacking trip and she looked fabulous. She wasn't very big on top but she looked great in it. She mentioned how nice it was to not have bra straps rubbing on the backpack and it made for a comfortable trip. The orangsicle color was really cute too. I think I might get one for my Grand Canyon trip...
