Three's a crowd, but not in the LightWedge DP3.

Head into the wild blue yonder with two buddies and the Mountain Hardwear LightWedge DP 3 3-Person 3-Season Tent. The DP3 weighs under 6 pounds, so you can split up the weight for a not-so-grand total of under two pounds each. The real beauty of the LightWedge DP3 is its ability to hold back Mother Nature's nastiest mood swings. Tested in Mountain Hardwear's Rain Room under brutal downpour conditions for 24 hours, the LightWedge DP3 is guaranteed watertight so you can rest easy, even if a squall kicks up at 4 AM.

  • Tough polyester canopy and fly construction (68D and 75D, respectively) for many seasons of tough use

  • Plenty of floor space for 3 healthy, full-grown adults sleeping head-to-toe
  • About 5.5 pounds of total weight for easy carrying

Nice tent

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used this tent a few times and so far I have to say, it's great! I actually purchased this as a factory second from a different store and have yet to figure out what makes it a second. Overall, setup is fast and easy, even with one person. The poles seem reasonably rugged, and the dry pitch system should be nice if I ever find myself setting up in the rain or decide to shed the weight of the tent itself and use just the foot print, poles and rain fly. It does have a gear loft at the front as well as a couple of pockets at the rear of the tent. The floorless vestibule formed by the rain fly is nice for storing gear and helping to keep some of the dirt out of the tent a s well. I would like to see a few more view out sections in the rain fly since it covers all of the tent, windows included. I imagine 3 people will fit, but it would definitely be snug. I have used it primarily for myself and my dog, and have yet to try carrying it back packing.
