This coat is currently being used in one of the absolute coldest of winters, -20 degrees plus windchill, in the middle of Ann Arbor, Michigan. This versatile coat has kept me warm in the late fall and dead of winter while looking stylish on campus. With large, accessible pockets with a tough fabric exterior, I would definitely recommend this coat to those who need style and warmth in subfreezing temperatures.

Cons: This coat isn't tractable as many other winter jackets, so not so good for boarding and. This is more for warmth, style and comfort.

Real warm

You can wear this jacket with a long sleeve t shirt to shovel snow in 23F ......super warm but somewhat bulky but much less so than the Sub Zero Parka and just as warm.... Generous pockets although the one on the chest could be larger....Another great product from MH...

Anyone know the difference between this...

Anyone know the difference between this and the Moutain Hardwear Downtown coat?

ema. The Lacerta Coat and the Downtown Coat are two very similar jackets. They both utilize 650-fill Goose Down, and they both have removable hoods. The Downtown Coat is 1" longer but the main difference is that the Downtown Coat is waterproof! The Downtown Coat is taped on the inside providing completely weather and waterproof coverage where the Lacerta Coat is built with the Conduit laminate... it's just not taped. So, you'll get weather protection from both but the Downtown Coat is completely waterproof. I hope this info helps!

it does thank you! I had tried the downtown coat in the past and was disappointed in the amount of insulation in the arms. Do you know if this coat has more?
