You can either carry on or check luggage, so I'm not sure what you mean by 'check on'. In any case, you can certainly check this bag, usually for a fee, and you can also carry this back on the plane with you, as its dimensions are less than the 45 linear inch limit for most airlines.

Love this pack. I bought it for day hikes and it is just perfect. It is just the right size for a day hike. Fits my lunch, rain gear, camara, dog treats, leashes, etc. It is built like any Mountain Hardwear product is- high quality, sturdy,looks nice has lots of room,and is comfortable. And last, but not least, it is RED. my favorite color.

Gets the job done for school. I can fit a good amount of books and papers in it and it has a notebook sleeve. Front pocket is good to stuff a jacket in. Has a nice sunglasses pocket with a soft liner. I also have been using it to put skiing stuff in. The only thing that I would change is the size, I would like it a little bigger, but it is fine for what I'm using it for.
Could this pack be versatile enough that I could use it for school?
