The Mountain Hardwear Illusion Jacket for women is a waterproof, breathable shell perfect for a day on the slopes. Looking for a full-featured, waterproof jacket but don't want to pay out the nose for it? The Illusion is what you're looking for. This is the perfect jacket for skiing or riding at the resort with the features you need. Constructed from Mountain Hardwear's 2-layer Conduit fabric, the Illusion is waterproof, and comes complete with a powder skirt, zip-off hood, and extra-long underarm vents with zip. To increase abrasion-resistance Mountain Hardwear has reinforced the sides, forearms, and elbows with extra fabric panels—something you'd expect to see on jackets twice the price. They also didn't skimp on the details that have made their outerwear famous like welding front zipper flaps and powder skirts instead of stitching to save weight and maintain the fabric's integrity. The Illusion has a plethora of pockets without showing it. In addition to subtle front hand pockets, find one hiding on the left sleeve and another inside, both with zips. The icing on the cake is the Illusion's great looking and slimming color blocking.

Bottom Line: You're not seeing things—the Illusion is actually a waterproof, breathable shell for this great price.

Jacket of Illusion

I bought this jacket when it was on sale and it wasn’t worth it. First, the size. I don’t think I am out of proportion but the sleeves are too long while the body is too tight for a second layer. Second, the material is very soft and I doubt it is either weather proof or abrasion proof. Third, the inside linen feels like made of cheap material. I returned it without a second thought.

And stylish, too!

This jacket was great on the slopes in Colorado. Warm & wind-proof. It worked well with a liner I already own. Lots of convenient pockets, and it looks great too.
