What are the dimensions? Is it carry on sized?

Responded on

It'll be snug, but it'll probably fit.

Responded on

Hey Fletch,
The dimensions for this packpack are 24 x 13 x 12 inches. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Responded on

Hey Fletch,

Typically most airlines put the carry-on size at 45 liner inches as the maximum. If you picked this bag up before it sold out I recommend not filling it up all the way so as to get away with this being 49 liner inches.

Works well as a hiking pack as well.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this because I needed a pack that would fit all of my sport climbing gear and also work as a hiking/travel pack. This pack does pretty good! I was going to hold out for the Hueco 35 which has a rope strap and deeper bottle pockets but i didn't want to wait so I went with this one and saved $30. It is fairly comfortable and support a fair amount of weight. Hydration pouch is nice! Has plenty of pockets to separate all of my stuff. I am big on organization and this pack is great for that! the interior of the pack has a sleeve on each side that is about the size of a 1.5L Nalgene bottle. I use it for compressing layers and holding stuff-sacks full of whatever. Seems to be fairly sturdy so far. I have put about 45 miles and 6,000 feet on it and no problems! Also. the duffel handle is awesome! If you can find a way to holster your rope from the gear loops atop or on the back, it will hold a lot of gear on the inside!

I can't tell from the photos how one attaches ice axes to this pack. I can see the bottom loops, but I can't see where they attach at the top. Anyone have some insight?

I believe the handle drops through the bottom loops (blue) and then rotates up and is put through the smaller loop near the zipper (yellow). It's hard to tell, but I'm guessing that's elastic. It looks like a weird angle, but that's my best guess.

That seems about right to me Angus..

FWIW - neither of those loops are elastic. They're stitched webbing.
