When I don't wear a hat people don't recognize me.. I have beat the crap out of so many hats and most hats are cheap pieces of crap. They are cheap advertising gimmicks that don't last. This hat does. I own four and the original one is still going strong, though it stinks and it is filthy.

Finely made, lightweight ball cap. Gets 3 stars for fit. I have a 7.5 in. head and bought the large. While it's an easily adjustable hat, the top material is too big and baggy. It looks silly and floppy. I guess it would work if you had a lot of curly hair. Ended up giving it to my dad, who is oblivious to fashion and needed a brimmed hat.

Mountain Hardware, these people make great stuff! I have been very happy with every thing I have purchased with their name on it. The hat is just another well made item.

Hi, Does this hat have elastic in the headband? One review seems to suggest this. Also, I have a large volume head and wonder if the hat is well suited to me. For reference, my current favorite is Northface nylon from REI.

No not really, it has a rear buckle for adjustment... I have the same problem...go with the large.

Nice comfortable cap that has lasted for a few seasons now. Keeps it's form wash after wash and stays soft.

Not much special about this hat, it is comfortable and has held up well. I have a smaller head and there is plenty of adjustment for a secure fit.

The has is comfortable - but I agree with the extra strap flap. There should be an area to put this.

The top piece of the hat is very large. Even though the elastic fits on my head , the hat swallows my head and looks a bit goofy.

The hat is comfortably, the only real complaint I have is the extra strap material around the rear buckle. Once you adjust it, there's nowhere to slide the extra material. So it ends up just laying there like a tail...I ended up wrapping it around the strap, but still looks a little goofy from the back.

I'm late to the party in responding but what I've always done with these is to take a razor knife and cut it to the length desired then melt the cut end with a flicker lighting, just enough to keep the cut end from fraying.

Works like a charm!

Is this a structured or an unstructured/slouch cap?

If you are referring to the bill of the cap... it does have structure to it. As for the body of the cap it is un-structured. Hope this is the info you were looking for...
