Description

Luxurious warmth with only a whisper of weight.

The airy down and ultralight shell of the Mountain Hardwear Women's Ghost Whisperer Down Jacket may endow it with a barely-there feel (after all, it only weighs six ounces), but this jacket is capable of providing heavy-duty warmth when the chips are down. Layer it under a waterproof shell for maximum warmth on exposed mountain slopes, or wear it on its own and enjoy the sensation of staying warm even though you could swear you weren't wearing any jacket at all.
  • Durable, ultralight 7D x 10D Whisperer ripstop fabric features tight, wind-resistant weave and a DWR finish to repel light precipitation
  • Bright filament nylon and multiple cire finishes give the shell an eye-catching luster
  • 850-fill goose down insulation is extremely compressible and offers the highest warmth-to-weight ratio available
  • Semi-fitted cut layers easily
  • Full elastic cuffs and hem drawcord seal the perimeters against the cold
  • Jacket stashes in one of the front handwarmer pockets for easy transport

I jumped into Lake Tahoe in December then jumped into the jacket to see how well it worked for real. It really did warm me up in seconds. I've taken it canyon hiking as well for the past few months and I have to say it's strength, durability, lightness, and even colour are great for the backcountry.

I was a little suspect - but I am living in this jacket now and muddy ranch dogs are jumping on it...I can't believe how light it is, but so cozy, One of my friends handed me this jacket as I was leaving her house on New Year's Eve and she commented on the feather lightness and how it can't be much to keep me warm...they just don't know!
The wind in Montana can be a problem and I'll wear my old Carhardt Canvas Jacket over it...then I can stand ANYTHING. This jacket won't disappoint.
