Mountain Hardwear EXtend Midweight Tights - Men's - 2006 BCS

These are some of the best midweight long underwear I've tried (and I've tried a lot). I especially appreciate the comfortable waistband and the smooth seams. The fit is great: tight enough to fit smoothly around the legs, but not constricting. Excellent under a thicker layer such as the Marmot Powerstretch tights. So far, the anti-odor treatment has worked. No major pungency after several days of wearing, unlike other brands' offerings.

Overall, I really like these tights, they are great at keeping you at just the right temperature. The fabric is very comfortable and the odor fighter that is embedded in it is a plus, especially on multi-day trips.

My only complaint is that they do not flex as much, as say Under Armour tights. Knee bending causes the ankles to come up or the waist to come down until they're reached their comfort zone, but other than that, they are really good tights and I'm very happy with them.

I wear these "midweight tights" (fancy term for long underwear) as a base layer in a wide range of winter conditions. I'm warm in all but the most frigid temps wearing these and an unlined Gore-Tex ski bib. I'd say that the word "tights" is misleading. This is really mid-weight techie long underwear.
