  • Waterproof Dry Q. core fabric shrugs off the nastiest surprise storms
  • Color-coded poles, sleeves, and grommets for quick, easy setup
  • Zippered vents allow airflow and keep bugs, lizards, snakes, and weasels outside
  • Large no-see-um mesh panel opens for ventilation in dry conditions
  • SVX window for brighter interior and ability to see outside without opening the bivy
  • DWR-treated reverse zippers and welded zipper flaps for water-tightness

So Far So Good

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased this for Rainier climbs in good weather in an effort to save weight yet provide basic shelter. It has been great for the 5 nights I have used it so far, no problems with condensation and the frame has kept the fabric off of my face. Never tried it in inclement weather, but honestly if I was planning on foul weather I would probably bring a tent anyways.

needs upgraded fabric

Mountain hardware is very proud of their dry q elite and they should start using it in this bivy. The waterproof breathable fabric they use now sucks.

I think you should explain a little more if you're going to give this bag a 1 star review...

Seems like a fair request. So Dry Q elite is event fabric that has been licenced by MH. Both event and dry q elite are great and very advanced fabrics for jackets and bivy bags. However, this is not dry q elite it is dry q core. Dry q core is cheap and not breathable enough for a bivy IMHO. Dry q core is not even on the same planet as dry q elite. 250 dollar price tag? No thanks. Bring the price up to 300 and make it out of dry q elite and you have a winner. If not save some money and get the highland bivy from OR and get the same performance with a better warrenty. I like MH for their innovation, but this is not innovative it is an outdated fabric on a very expensive bivy.
