Description

Take the Mountain Hardwear Epic Pant with you everywhere you go. You never know what could happen out there.

Mountain Hardwear's Epic Pant is a great extra layer to pack on hikes or wear through cold spring mornings. It offers waterproof, breathable stretch fabric at the knees to keep you moving, while non-separating side zip venting keeps you cool and dry. The elastic waistband, front fly, and rubber Velcro tab cuffs make it easy to get in and out of the pants as the weather and temperatures dictate. The Epic Pant is lightweight and easy to pack, so there's no excuse not to take it with you.

These are better than the REI brand pants I have becasue they offer large sizes with a long inseam. They are also very light, and take up little space so they won't be noticed if you never wear them. The real test will come when I try to wear them while commuting in the rain.

These pants have stood up to quite a lot of abuse while climbing: butt scooting down granite slabs, knee scraping, and general abrasion. They've held up great, and kept me dry!

Overall these pants are great -

Pros: Lightweight, they look and fit great, they are very breathable with little to no moisture accumulation. The full-length zipper allows for super simple and clean on/off, and the fly makes taking care of business simple.

Cons: The windproof flaps on the interior part of the zipper almost always catch unless you pull the zipper out away from your leg, then up.

Too small. I bought xl but they wouldn't fit over my hips - which are not enormous!

I bought these pants for bike riding in the rain. They've done a terrific job; lightweight, comfortable, easy to slip over other pants, bend well at the knees, etc.
