Description

A bag that works ... wherever you want to be.

You’re communicating through office IM chat on your laptop, so no one can hear the birds chirping or feel the warm breeze blowing over your picnic blanket. Earlier in the day you were suffocating in your cube, but then you packed your laptop, folders, sunglasses, water bottle, and music player in the Mountain Hardwear Enterprise Backpack and headed out into the sunshine. The Enterprise pack's new CoolWave suspension system maintains a comfy fit with excellent ventilation even when the pack is loaded down, so you won't feel bogged-down or sweaty. Helpful extras include a fleece-lined sunglass compartment, hydration sleeve that can hold a laptop instead of a reservoir, and tons of storage pockets to keep small items handy.

I was looking for a multipurpose day pack for work, short hikes, biking etc. and the Enterprise fits the bill perfectly. Holds much more than I thought it would in the store. The belt is a bit flimsy but adequate being just a strap with no padding etc. The mesh pockets on the sides, while large capacity, do not hold a water bottle very tightly. A multitude of pocket styles inside the bag make organizing a cinch. The laptop pocket can also be used to hold your hydration pack and there is a tube opening at the top for same. All in all a great little pack that does very well as a daypack.

What a pack; at first I had some questions: 1) The vertical front, external zip pocket's enclosure is so bomber, I wondered if it was over built, i.e. un-needed extra weight - turns out it's worth the weight - these pockets are super functional, dry, protected, solid; I guess this is where the pack gets it's name from because these pockets form central control deck for the pack, that's right like the Star Trek ship of the same name - this area really stands out and gives the pack a gnarley structure.
2) The inner organizer pockets on the inside seemed a little finicky and downright nerdy for a mountain pack, Well... now a few solid weeks into regular use with this pack; I have flown with it, taken the train, bus, gone to the beach, etc., as well as multiple meetings - and through this process these pockets have really come to life in terms of functionality; they are lite and stay out of the way, while still managing to catch and, better yet, organize all the little things I through at them.

Will this fit my 16" x 11" Dell laptop? It's hard to figure out what will fit for MH backpacks.

i have a 17x11 hp laptop and an older version of this same pack with the same volume. it fits, but it's a struggle to get it in and out. it's tight...not really what i bought the pack for so its a bonus. you could always buy it, try it, and return it if it doesn't work. backcountry.com has a no questions asked return policy...

benotimura. The waist belt on this pack is a relatively basic webbing belt that is removable if you don't need it. Hope this info helps!

I was curious how water/weather resistant this bag would be. I live in western Washington (where the rainy season is about to begin) and will be using it for the occasional bike/walk commute to work and school. Thanks for any assistance you can provide me with.

It will shed some light moisture for a short amount of time only, but for heavy or prolonged rain, you'll need a pack cover to keep the pack and it's contents dry.

Also, to add to Phil's answer... the fabric is treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent finish) that will repel light snow and rain. It is not taped however and so is not waterproof. Hope this helps!

Thanks Jon. The DWR is a good thing to know about. Is that throughout all of MHW's packs...day and otherwise?

This is the new model of the enterprise correct?

Will my 15 inch by 11 inch laptop fit easily in the laptop conpartment???

I have a North Face Surge backpack right now and can barely force my laptop in due to the 11 inch front to back dimension.

Thanks!

It will hold your 15" laptop just fine. It's snug and secure, but built for that size.
