One of the coziest, most stylish down jackets you can find, the Mountain Hardwear Women's Downtown Jacket keeps you warm on cold winter hikes and ice skating outings. Lined with a plush, high loft PimpChimp fleece and insulated with 650-fill goose down, the Downtown Jacket turns a freezing cold night snowshoe hike into a luxury getaway. When you return to town from your midnight jaunt, you'll look stylish in the feminine cut and wavy stitch lines accenting the Downtown Jacket. Stuff your hands into the warm, fleece-lined pockets when your gloves are amiss, and store your jacket in its included stuff sack when the weather starts to thaw.
Bottom Line: Who knew exceptional warmth could look as good as the Mountain Hardwear Downtown Jacket?
Loved this coat - beautiful color and nice fit. However, it appeared dirty/dingy and when I looked closer you can see the brown feathers through the jacket.
This jacket is extremely warm and looks great on. I wore it in 32 degree weather and was VERY warm. Very lightweight.......but has excellent insulation. Not a big and bulky jacket.
I'm writing this for my wife because she is way too type A to sit down to do it. The Downtown jacket is now her favorite piece of winter clothing. The first time she wore it was walking our Husky at 6am, temp 7 degrees F. She got back wondering how she went this long without a down jacket. Works as well for hikes and going out at night. From my perspective, it is a sexy lookin' down jacket, nice cut. She likes how it's tapered in the waist but not too high on the hips to make it drafty like the Marmot she tried on. Compared to my Cloudveil Down Patrol, the material on the Mountain Hardwear feels more durable, and it feels like it's packed with more down. Sweet jacket, MHW quality, function and fashion. Women already in shape only look better in this coat IMO.

I have generally found that, when it comes to jackets, the quality of Mountain Hardwear does not compare to tried and true brands such as Patagonia and The North Face. (And I have tried 3 different MH jackets.) The zipper on this jacket did not work properly. The quality of the materials used is also quite inferior when compared to other excellent quality jackets. I purchased the Marmot Mountain Down jacket; while it may be a bit bulkier, I'm still warmer and much happier with the quality.
I love this coat. I am tall 5'11 and the sleeves fit without having to go up to an XL. This jacket has been perfect for spending a lot of time outside in the snow and wind and feel toasty warm. I love it and we spend a lot of time on the slopes, sledding and x-country skiing!
This jacket was not nearly as warm as I had expected. I compared the down fill in quite a few jackets before purchasing this one. Although the fill was supposedly the same as other comparable jackets, the loft wasn't nearly as warm in the Mountain Hardwear jacket once I received it. I think the warmth factor is also partially due to the outer material used. If you're going for a less bulky fit and aren't worried as much about practicality (e.g. waterproof or windchill factors), then you would be happy with this jacket.
I like the jacket, because it's very warm, but the sleeves are puffier than the rest of the jacket, which is a little weird. I think it also runs slightly large. I ordered a medium and am 5'8" and thin and it's a little too big, but still tolerable. I'm satisfied overall.
This is a wonderfully warm, cozy down jacket. The cut is terrific, sits at the waist, nicely fitted around the mid section. Not too bulky. The down is incredibly lightweight - it's like having a down sleeping bag wrapped around you! This jacket is great for below freezing temps.
This jacket was a gift for my wife and she loves it. She said the jacket keeps her very warm and she loves the color. The only negative thing is the jacket is a little bulky.
