The Mountain Hardwear Men's Dome Ruinart Beanie makes the wind feel weak and ineffectual by blocking every attempt at cold-temperature penetration. Technostretch lining ensures a perfect, snug fit on even the knobbiest of heads, and the Ruinart even has ear cutouts so you can hear through all that warmth.

Bottom Line: Ahhhhhh... toasty noggin!

Toasty

Another quality hat from Mountain Hardwear. Lightweight and toasty warm while doing a great job of blocking the wind. Is large enough to cover your ears. This is my daughter in-laws "go to" hat.

Super Warm Hat

By:

The Dome Ruinart is really toasty, stops wind perfectly, and breathes pretty well, too. It has a good fit and the ear holes, while not perfectly placed for me (everyone has different sized/shaped noggins), it's still very close. Highly recommended cold weather dome lid.

Nice hat.. if you have a smaller head

This is a well made and warm hat; however for a guy with a longer head like me it left my ears exposed.

Great hat ... poor fit

By:
December 26, 2010

Great hat, but it fit poorly on me. I take that back, it fits well for casual use, not too tight whereas you'll get hat head (you do but not as bad as most beanies and hats). However, when I run and the wind picks up (15-20mph) it doesn't fit well, not snug enough. I've had to constantly adjust it so the wind won't blow it off my head. Otherwise it's a great great hat, warm, comfortable, wicks well, and as advertised, stops the wind. You just need a bigger head than mine.

Great Hat

By:

This beanie is really nice. Usually hats like this will make my head itch, but this one does not ever bother me. It is pretty thin but its ability to block the wind makes up for a lot. Like another reviewer said, it does seem like it could fly off in a really strong wind, but it is probably due to me getting a size that covered my ears instead of one that fits snugly. I like the styling of this hat. It is a lot better than the Dome Perignon-it had a goofy looking point on top of your head. Overall, this is an excellent hat.

OK scully

By:
December 30, 2010

I usally wear a large in a scully this one is a little big. Probably should of got a medium. The scully is warm and breaths well. It will keep you warm. Only real issue is it comes down over your ears and has an ear plug effect. When your up and moving around it makes alot of noise. It is like putting your hands over your ears, push down a little bit and all sounds amplify. I pull it up a little and it goes away. It is fine for driving but I wont be wearing it on the slopes. The parts of the scully that have less fabric dont line up. They are too close together. Overall I like it, but it will be for staying warm while driving, not an all around scully.

Best Hat Money Can Buy

By:
December 20, 2010

This lightweight and compact beanie blocks out the wind so you stay extra warm. In adittion the super soft fleece is also comfy. Also the ear cut-out are a nice feature so you can still hear when you have the hat on!
