The Mountain Hardwear Women's Convertible Pack Pant's zip-off legs leave a 6” inseam short for river crossings and hot afternoons. Made of durable Hardwear Cloth, the pants offer UPF 50 sun protection. The micro chamois lined seamless conical waist prevents abrasion from the waist belt of your pack; it also dries quickly to keep you cool and comfortable. The Convertible Pack pant has plenty of pocket space, including two front cargos, two rear Velcro pockets, and a front zipping security pocket. Additional features include a side ankle zip, mesh draining panels in the pockets, and a pocket knife snap hook. Mountain Hardwear has reinforced the knees and seat to prolong the life of your pants.

Bottom Line: The Mountain Hardwear Convertible Pack pant's zip-off legs and quick-drying materials will treat you well—from the 40F 5:30 am wake-up call to the 85F 3:30 pm calf-deep river crossing.

umm...so-so

I first ordered the pants in my usual size and then had to go up one size because they were too tight in the waist and too short. The next size (too) are snug in the waist (not a lot of give) and about 1 inch shorter than I am used to in length. Then I wore them hiking Yosemite. They are great as far as they are advertised, the sizing is just a little off and not flattering... hahaha!

Northface Covertible Pack Pants

By:
August 31, 2004

I like the Northface convertible pack pants, but they don't make them for women with average-to-longer legs. I can't stand my pants too short and the inseam on those only goes to 30". The catalog may have said 31", but they were about 2" too short for me and I wear 32". Also, for the price they are not any better than some of the other convertible pants out there, like Robbins' for half the price. I'm returning the Northface, which are also slightly heavier to carry too. Thanks.
