Mountain Hardwear's burliest ski jacket.
Skiing in terrible weather isn't so much a choice as it is a unavoidable compulsion, right? That's what Mountain Hardwear figure when it made the Compulsion 3L Men's Ski Jacket with a three-layer Dry.Q Elite waterproof and breathable membrane. Unlike most waterproof laminates, Dry.Q Elite doesn't require moisture to build up before it starts to breath--it begins instantly, so you'll never feel sticky or soggy, even on damp days when you're skinning up through dense trees. The tough nylon fabric has a smooth, soft feel that will make it hard to believe the Compulsion isn't actually a softshell, and the pack-compatible chest pockets double as vents, to keep you cool and comfortable on those rare days when the Dry.Q Elite isn't enough on its own.
Mountain Hardwear also decked the Compulsion out with resort- and backcountry-friendly features like a removable and adjustable powder skirt, adjustable and helmet-compatible hood, and a sleeve pass pocket to make those RFID gates a little less annoying. The chin is lined with soft fabric to prevent chafing, and the plethora of pockets keep your phone, music, goggles, and snacks easily accessible whether you're riding lifts or hammering down on the skin track.
