Kelly. These could be used for cycling in the rain but you may want a pair of pants that tapers more at the cuff. With that said, there are plenty of implements on the market designed to keep pant cuffs out of chain rings. They are great rain pants that I have used motorcycling in the rain for days and have kept me dry. Arguably the ultimate test! Hope this info helps.

I commute daily in a rainy city and use a rubber band around the leg of my waterproof hiking pants. Maybe a little ghetto, but works like a charm!
