You’re not sure what the weather will do on your backcountry ski trek, snowshoeing adventure, or early-winter hike. The Mountain Hardwear Women’s Cloud Jacket has a waterproof breathable Gore-Tex Performance Shell laminate for storms and extra-long Underarm zips for the sun. The soft, brushed polyester lining keeps this shell comfortable whether you’re wearing heavyweight ski underwear or a short-sleeve spring performance top underneath. A beefy laminated brim on the hood repels rain and snow.

Bottom Line: Trekking with your head and torso in the clouds.

No. The Cloud Jacket does not have a powder skirt. It was designed more as a general purpose mountain parka rather than a ski specific shell. Check out the Mountain Hardwear Dauphine Jacket if you would be more into a more ski specific and insulated shell. Hope this helps!

I can never tell if I'm going to be Small or X-Small...With Patagonia for example I'm definitely an XS in all their jackets; insulated, rain jackets, etc. etc. I'm 5'2 110lbs, small frame but a maybe a bit broad in the shoulders. Will an X-small be too small?

Ariel. I would go with a small. I think you'll be happy with that size. Cheers!

Ada. It would be a great shell jacket for Wisconsin winters but as it has no insulation built-in it would need to be layered with an insulative layer such as a thick fleece or down sweater on the coldest days. If you layered with fleece or down in the winter and wore it alone in the summer the Cloud Jacket would be a great summer jacket as well. Hope this info helps!

I have bought this jacket. It is on the way to my country, now. But, I don't know if it will be fit. Its sleeves seem so long. What about this brand sizing?

Martha. We have not heard any feed back that the sleeves on the Cloud Jacket are exceptionally long so I would not worry about the fit. If you fit the jacket like you fit other jackets that you have, if you bought a similar size, you should be okay.

Is the brushed polyester lining an insulating layer? I mean is it as thick, soft and fuzzy as micro-fleece?

The brushed poly lining is meant to make the Cloud Jacket more comfortable when wearing it by itself. It is not meant as an insulating layer and is not as thick as a micro fleece. Consider this a GoreTex shell and not an insulated shell. Hope this helps!
