loved this coat-i am size 8-ordered medium.Fit was flattering.loved longer length to cover my behind in cold northeast winter.I ordered dolomite-nice silver color. i did send it back for 2 reasons. The fabric did not seem"sturdy" enough. It is sort of thin and i did not think it would hold up well. Also sleeves where very long-they do have nice nylon like fitted cuff inside. I sort of agonized over this because it was a nice coat but the fabric was the dealbreaker. Instead I ordered northface metropolis-grey-last year color-like it very much.

I was really excited to get this jacket. I love the cut and baffle design, and I'm generally a fan of Mountain Hardwear quality. This jacket fit wonderfully in the body, but the sleeves were way too long and loose (I'm 5'4 and ordered a small). It also seemed pretty thin for a down jacket, but I won't comment on the warmth since I returned it before testing it out in the high mountain cold.

I adore the fit and style of this coat. I only wish it were warmer. It is perfect for fall weather, but will not keep me warm in New England winter. I have also noticed that feathers have been shedding a little.
Overall I do like the coat but for the price I think it should be of better quality. I'm glad I purchased it on sale.
If they come out with a windproof version of this exact style I would pay top dollar.

HI! I would always check the tag inside the garment first, but here's what MH's website has to say about laundering their down:

To machine wash, first zip up all zippers, attach all Velcro, and turn your garment inside out. Only use a front-loading machine, with cold water on a gentle setting. Use a minimum amount of a mild powder soap or special down soap (available at outdoor stores). Use at least two rinse cycles to get all of the soap out of the garment.

When moving your garment from washer to dryer, do so by carrying it from the bottom. Tumble dry in a large, commercial dryer with low heat. The dryer must be large enough for the garment to flop around freely. Drying could take several hours, and your garment should be checked often to be sure it isn't overheated. As it dries, look for clumps of wet down and gently shake to redistribute the down.

When laundering, don't:

use a top-loading washing machine
use a liquid soap or detergent
use your home dryer (they have been known to melt holes in fabric)
lift your garment from one end when wet (lift the entire thing from underneath)
dry out in the sun (UV can damage nylon)
