The Mountain Hardwear Women’s Castlewood Softshell Pant weighs a mere 12 ounces and gives you the versatility to take on a climb, hike, or backpacking trip in sunny or drizzly weather. Thornguard softshell fabric adds a bit of stretch to ensure total freedom of movement on technical ground, and Mountain Hardwear added a Micro-Chamois lining for a soft feel and a touch or insulation. You can even use the Castlewood Pant as a mid-layer under your hardshell if the weather turns really nasty.

I bought these pants to wear to Nepal- to trek up to Everest Base Camp. YUP! My first trekking experience and I wasn't sure of what the pants should be like for the cold, 5 week long trip. They were absolutely fantastic. Super comfortable, easy to move in. Very roomie even when I wore long underwear under them. I bought the black pair, and they never got grungy with dirt- seemed to be able to brush off dirt and kept them looking good.
They are the best!

Waist is too high, but comfortable

These pants are stretchy and comfortable. I'm returning these because the waist is a little too high and they run a little too short for me (5'11''). The pockets on the leg are in a weird location (mid-thigh), but the zippers on the pockets and at the ankles are nice.
Change me.
