Is this sun hat a one size fits all? My boyfriend spends a lot of time gardening and his forehead ( I call it his " impressive dome " )doesn't have the protection it used to have. Even his handsome Italian skin can not protect him from uv rays. He says he won't wear a hat cuz his head is too big and he doesn't like anything on his head. I say a hat is easier to cope with than skin cancer. Does it stretch to size? Liz

This particular lid from Mountain Hardwear comes in regular and large. Maybe the large would work fine, and hopefully they will be in stock again soon!

I love everything about this hat! It's super comfortable to wear - soft, light and well ventilated. It has a nice, wide brim that's a little longer in the back, so my whole face and neck stay shaded and cool. I've had sun hats that aren't longer in the back, and that's when you realize you really need one that is. The brim strikes a great-looking shape, too. And it's semi-rigid, so the brim doesn't blow around when it's windy (that's driven me crazy with every other sun hat I've owned). The fact that the hat is waterproof (water resistant?) means your head, face and neck stay dry in the rain (along with your eyes, sunglasses, iPod headphones, etc.), and the hat never becomes saturated or loses its shape. Buy this hat! You will not be disappointed!

It's got mesh panels... how could it be waterproof, or even water resistant?

Brim width? Is it the same as the old school Mountain Hardwear
Brim width?
Is it the same as the old school Mountain Hardwear Solar Nylon Vented Sun Hat, circa 2006? That's the one I have...3.5" front and sides, 4" in the back. I can't find the specs anywhere, even on the Mountain Hardwear site...
I would also welcome any real owner comparisons between this and the Mountain Hardwear Talus Sun Hat, as I'm looking at both...
