Mountain Hardwear made the Big Nut Flex Baseball Hat out of organic cotton twill, mesh, a Coolmax sweatband, and a single big nut. Enjoy a just-right stretchy fit and all the ventilation you could need. And you'll look more civilized wearing this cap after a week on the backpacking trail. We promise.

Bottom Line: Flaunt the flex

No small sizes and poor quality

If you have a small head like me, don't bother with this hat. Doesn't come in size smaller than a regular, and that was too big for me. Also noticed the poorly sewn seam between the cap and bill. Really bunched up and junky-looking.

how big is your melon? on a fitted hat scale that is...

I'll wear about a 7 1/4 -7 3/8...

how's the fit?:
is it one of those half dome like hats that feel like it'll fall off in the breeze?
or snug over your head, down the back side, little over the ears?

I always have these questions ordering online... ugh... thanks!

Is the back of this hat thin mesh like a trucker hat or is it

Is the back of this hat thin mesh like a trucker hat or is it that foam lined mesh that won't breathe nearly as well

not trucker cap mesh. its more like double layer jersey mesh. if you go into a hat store, ask to try on an official MLB batting practice hat. it feels and breathes like that same material.

Works well

I've worn this hat for the past few months, almost daily and it's not showing a great deal of wear. It's comfortable and feels like new every time I wash it. The front of the hard could be a tad sturdier. It doesn't have a stiff mesh to keep it's form at all (which I usually cut out anyway but I'd like the option)

Great casual hat

I have had this hat for about a month and I wear it almost every day. It is super comfortable and I have received at least a dozen "I like your hat" type comments. The only improvement I might make is to get rid of the cotton and add a lightweight synthetic instead. I may not wear this hat too much in the backcountry just for the reason of it not being quick drying all over.

Bottom line: comfortable and fashionable hat, I recommend it!

Poor craftsmenship

Mountain Hardwear should not have put their name on this hat. The seam between the cap and bill was extremely flawed. I did'nt even have to try it on to know it was janky!
