I'm under 5' and about 100 pounds. The small women's gaiters are still too big, so it takes a lot of cinching and where the velcro lands is too loose. Wish it came in an extra small.

Other than that, they are virtually imperceptible when wearing - which is good. Breathable and comfortable.

I would recommend these to an average-sized woman.

Hey ladies, these gators are awesome for spring/fall/winter conditions in the snow, rain, sleet, or whatever else you can throw at 'em. They have the breathable section on the backside so even if you use them to run or x-country ski you don't overheat.
The only criticism I have is that even the size Small is pretty wide...if you are only wearing tights underneath (like for winter trailrunning) the velcro doesn't line up perfectly to get them tight enough around your calves. I actually sewed an extra velcro patch on mine to better the fit.
Great product though!

I know we are not supposed to talk about gaitors. None of us like that sometimes it makes sense to carry yet another item just to keep the snow out. But, this might just be the tool for the job when it becomes necessary to get between the snow and your ankles. It is also great for leashing in flaring ski pants on the alpine or ice climbing missions- also, I might add, protecting those expensive pants.
These gaitors are stripped down to the essentials. The material on the back is stretchy and breathable (ie not waterproof) but the material on the front is waterproof- so you get the perfect combination of breathe-ability and dry feet. These are also the toughest gaitors on the market. Spend your fifty dollars on gaitors that are going to last- allowing you to get your mind off of them- and just have dry feet.
