Climb a frozen waterfall or alpine wall in the stretchy, windproof Mountain Hardwear Men's Alchemy Pant. These nylon pants are laminated with Gore-Tex WindStopper, which seals out blustery weather. Yet, these pants are breathable, so you won't get clammy as you work your way up the wall. The stretchable material along with a gusseted crotch mean you'll move freely in these pants. A DWR finish and water-resistant zippers means they'll keep you dry in light snow or rain.
Bottom Line: Play on vertical ice in the windproof Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Pants.

These pants are the ticket. Full comfort and function for verticle Ice.
Warm and dry, no area's of cold. Climbed in Ouray in minus zero temps with only silk weight base layer. My girl says they look great too. Climb on...

Same problem with Alchemy as with Maneuver as reviewed on this site; waist size is not accurate by a long shot. I ordered the large; the static waist (not a trace of elastic anywhere) was VERY tight and I'm a 35" at most. No way this thing fits to 37 as the size chart indicates. Tight waist, overly snug in other areas. Too bad; it's first-rate gear if they'd only make it true to size. Alas, had to return it; bummer.

The design and fabric are great. That being said, I think I am now close to a 34 waist (up from my svelte "close to a 33 inch waist"), and these are just about too tight. They button, but barely. I guess it's time to quit that between meal snacking.
