    Warm and well made.

I ordered this extra warm parka for upcoming winter here in Vermont. I like wearing only a tee layer underneath. So this parka has the features to deliver. Looks good. I ordered a L and like loose fitting, which this is on my 5'10" 200 pound frame.

      Super warm

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: xl

Perfect for cold and windy conditions. Usually I get cold under the arms and around neck but so far I have not had that problem with this jacket! (Used 20 days pluss)

      Super warm

      Best expedition parka

I love this parka so much I have it in Shark and State Orange.

It leaves plenty of room for layering underneath it, which makes sense because in and of itself it won't be warm enough for the environments where it is envisioned the wearer will be. However, if you're simply someplace like MN or in the NorthEast where extremely cold weather sets in, this on its own will probably suffice. I have no doubt that even in the coldest environments where I've lived (-14 F in DC with windchill in the Winter of 1995) this with only a tee shirt or thin baselayer will keep you extremely warm.

Zipper alpine pockets are cavernous along with the handwarmer pockets too.

Unless you plan on wearing this on its own, I would suggest against sizing down but go with your true size.

      HUGE,WARM,PUFFY,AND COMFY

HAD TO SWITCH TO MY HUNKER DOWN JACKET, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE WARMTH IT PROVIDES ALL IN ALL THIS JACKET IS SUPER WARM, DO SOME RESEARCH ON WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITES YOU WILL BE DOING WITH THIS JACKET, CAUSE IT AINT FOR THE CITY DUDE! ITS FOR PROFESSIONAL OR SURVIVIALIST AND EVEN POLAR ARTIC WILD MAN! WOULD FIT THE OWNERS NAME TAG ON THIS AWESOME JACKET

      It's a cocoon!

I took this monster to Aconcagua and Denali - both trips this year - and it performed amazingly well. I wear a large, and am 6'2" and 195 (in reasonable shape). On Denali summit day I wore 2 base layers, a soft shell, and an Atom SV under this and was toasty warm despite very cold temps and high winds. In other words, plenty of room to layer. I suggest a compression stuff sack for this garment - it is puffy. BTW, I tried an XL and it was too big all around.I am frankly surprised that there are not more reviews of this parka here.

      Extremely Warm

Thankfully we didnt have to wear it to much but when we did it worked. You definitely lose some dexterity when wearing this jacket its HUGE and PUFFY and keeps you warm in almost any kind of cold. I am sure there are places where this would not work and I probably wont visit them. I am 5'8" about 200lbs bought and XL to make sure it would fit over my other jackets and it was perfect.

      Extremely Warm

What's the compressed size of this? I'm comparing it to the Feathered Friends rock and ice parka, which compresses to 7.5" x 15", or 17L for medium

Truthfully., I don't have any physical dimensions for you, but I can say that when I have it in the stuff sack, it completely fills out the sleeping back compartment of my Osprey Atmos 65 backpack. And at 539 gram of 800 fill power down, you'll be plenty warm for sure!

What would be a woman's equivalent? I am going on a photo expedition in Iceland in February… Lots of standing around and I need to keep warm. Thanks!

I was stationed in Iceland for a year. You don't need this much warmth. Iceland's climate is moderated by the gulf stream which flows around it. Do the research on the temperatures year round. If you were going to Greenland, then you would need a coat like this.

This actually a nice jacket for Iceland when you do photo tours. I own and operate a expedition company in Iceland and we specialize in photo tours. In the interior of Iceland we often se -10 og -20 Celsius an add on the wind chill when you are out hunting the auroras for hours this is the jacket to go for... I have one and use it often! Does this parka come with a stuff/compression sack? If not, what size sack would you suggest?

I just recieved my Absolute Zero parka and yes it does come when a sack. It's a bit bigger than it needs to be though, so you'll probably want to find something smaller to save room in your pack. (It's about the size of my 15 degree sleeping bag with the included sack, and it can definitely be compressed more.)

I have the nitrous 800 fill down jacket and the exposure shell. Together they weigh around 47 oz. Would they worn together be as warm as this absolute zero jacket which has 800 fill down and weighs 49 oz? The absolute zero has an insulated hood whereas the nitrous and exposure combination hood is not insulated. Is this the only difference?

Does this AbsoluteZero have hand pockets...

Does this AbsoluteZero have hand pockets in addition to chest pockets? It is described in other website that there are handpockets. Is this product produced this year? Or is it from years before? Why do you have more discount than others?
