The Matrix II Sleeping Bag from Mountain Equipment features a combination of water-resistant down and PrimaLoft synthetic insulation for use in extreme conditions. The combination of the two ensures that you get the compressible, highly-insulating properties of down but, when exposed to damp conditions, the synthetic insulation will allow this bag to keep insulating, whereas a normal down bag would be rendered virtually unusable. An alpine fit with a tapered lower leg section helps to prevent you from expending heat warming unused areas of the bag, and the baffled hood combined with a Solus draft collar help with heat-retention even further.
