A super-light solution.
Ideal for high-elevation backpacking, summer alpine climbing, and hut-to-hut ski trips, Mountain Equipment's Glacier SL 400 23-Degree Down Sleeping Bag is a well-built bag that you'll use year round. Weighing in at just two pounds, the Glacier SL is light enough to be packed into remote ranges, but still maintains all the hard-wearing features you'll want from a bag you might use on a portaledge or sleep under the stars in.
For insulation, the Glacier SL utilizes a 725-fill down that's light, compressible, and holds an efficient warmth-to-weight ratio. The outermost fabric boasts a 1500mm hydrostatic head, making the the bag highly water resistant. The Glacier is available in two lengths: medium and extra long, with the extra long option accommodating users up to 6ft 6in tall. Both bags sport Mountain Equipment's Alpine Fit mummy shape for enhanced comfort and thermal efficiency.
The actual construction of the bag consists of slanted box wall baffles in order to eliminate the cold spots common to traditional stitch-through baffles, as well as a Solus draft collar and tube to trap warm air. The hood is home to five baffles for increased thermal efficiency, and the foot box wraps your toes with four large baffles to keep your pups nice and toasty throughout the night.
