Venture off the grid with the rechargeable Motorola MR355R NiMH Two-Radio and stay in touch with a hiking buddy up to 35 miles away and receive NOAA weather radio updates deep in the backcountry. 22 channels and flexible charging options means the MR355R conveys your message clearly even on long treks. A vibrating call alert and hands-free VOX option keeps your hands free and your radio quiet while you enjoy the trail.

  • 2 channels, and 8 repeater channels mean you won’t overlap with other two-way radios at ski resorts or popular hiking spots
  • Seven NOAA weather channels and four general weather channels keep you in touch upcoming weather broadcasts
  • The rechargeable NiMH battery pack recharges by Motorola standard charger, a Mini-USB port, or drop-in charger cradle
  • iVox communication option automatically turns the radio to send when you start speaking so you’re free to hold binoculars or scramble around boulders
  • Customize your transmissions with a talk confirmation (roger beep), ten different call tones, and a silent vibrating alert

Bottom Line: Quit playing telephone and get your point across.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Does anyone know how these radios work in the mountains? Not

Does anyone know how these radios work in the mountains? Not line of sight but through trees, rock formations, around corners, obstructions, & not anywhere near the estimated 35 mile range.
Thanks

Mike,

Aside from professional radios, these are Motorola's top of the line for recreational use. Of all the different Motorola radios I've personally used, the only thing that gets in the way is topography...you in one valley, the other person in the next. Yeah, 35 miles is a big push, but two or three, without a mountain in the way, and your signal should be 5x5...over.
