A product of its rugged environment.
Taking design inspiration from the towering peaks, evergreen forests, and rocky outcroppings of California's Sierra Nevada, the Montrail Men's Sierravada OutDry Hiking Shoe devours the rockiest trails and alpine paths without sure-footed stability and tenacious grip. The Sierravada offers the smooth, responsive feel of a running shoe with the rugged durability of a dedicated hiker. Breathable synthetic uppers use leather reinforcements for extra abrasion-resistance when you're blazing across rough, rock-strewn trails and overgrown vegetation.
The OutDry waterproof, breathable membrane keeps your feet pleasantly dry as you cross shallow streams and trek through rainy weather. FluidFoam midsole cushioning offers responsive shock-absorption when you're hiking long distances across demanding stretches. And because it's meant for rugged alpine environments, the TrailShield sole protects your feet from abrasive ground and sharp stones without sacrificing flexibility or overall grip.

- Q & A
Dad loves Montrail
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
- Fit: True to size
My Dad burned through his Montrail Bajada II shoes this year so I bought him the Sierravada Outdry shoes for his 60th birthday. He's worn them a few times recently and he says they're just as awesome as all other Montrail shoes he's ever owned. They fit his narrow feet really well, he walks and hikes almost everyday and he swears by the Outdry saying it's just as good as goretex. He'll probably be in Montrails as long as they keep making shoes! He wears 8.5 so that's what I bought, they fit true to size.
