Love these trail runners!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs small
I am normally a size 8, but the first pair I ordered were just a tad too snug, so I exchanged for an 8.5 and they fit beautifully. I've worn many times and never had the pains of "breaking them in". The deep turquoise is true to color. I've received lots of compliments on the style, but the way they feel is the true win. Lightweight.
Brenda goes rogue on Alaska's trails
I've been a Montrail gal for several years and made the switch to the lighter Rogue Racer. I did my homework, and this is by far the best tranisition shoe for folks looking to go for a more minimalist run. Suggestion: order a 1/2 size larger. Have a great run!
This is my third pair of Rogue Racers. I am a fan of Montrail shoes, as I have been for years. They work really well with Montrail Integrafit insoles, unlike many other shoes. I had no problems adjusting to the 10 mm drop (heel/toe ratio). Although I am not a complete barefoot enthusiast, I do like the fact that these Montrails are more minimal that most of their other shoes. The one problem I do have with this trail shoe is the sole. I live in Alabama, where there is lots of mud, wet rocks, and slippery surfaces, and I do not think the sole performs the best in these conditions. I actually prefer these shoes on the roads, which is where they work well for me. Overall, the shoe has a great fit, is extremely comfortable, and is worth trying.

Fabulous Lightweight Trail Shoe
I got these last winter & while they took a little getting used to due to the minimalist style once my feet/legs got used to them they've become by far my favorite trail running shoe. I have a pretty wide foot & these did not feel too narrow for me. I sized up 1/2 size - I wear a 9 in my usual Salomon running shoe - and got these in a 9.5 which was perfect. I generally wear without socks & love the feel of the trail beneath my feet!
This shoe feels like a slipper when you put it on - very snug. Initially I thought that would be great, but as I wore them around (just walking, not running) my pinky toes were rubbing the sides and there happens to be a harder area of material above the little toes, too. Made for a double whammy of discomfort. Think this shoe might work well for those with narrower feet, but didn't work for me.
